Since 2009, Scribble Maps has helped people make better decisions using maps. Over time, their tools have evolved to support a diverse range of industries, including real estate, construction, logistics, and agriculture.

Their latest product, ScribbleSight, gives users a new level of control. It allows them to create custom geographic scores based on what matters most to them. Let’s take a look at what that means in more detail.

Solving Real-World Location Challenges

Businesses often face tough questions when selecting a site, planning a route, or analysing trade areas

ScribbleSight helps answer these questions by letting users combine different data points, like restaurant density, air quality, or safety levels, into a single score. You can reward or penalise areas based on what’s important to you.

These scores are then visualised on a map, making it easier to see the best options and act quickly.

Powering Innovation with Google Maps Platform

Scribble Maps has used Google Maps Platform since the start. Their tools use a wide range of APIs, including Street View, Routes, Distance Matrix, and Air Quality.

For ScribbleSight, one of the most essential tools is the Places API – Aggregate. Unlike other tools that only count nearby places, this API shows much more, like reviews, pricing, and quality.

This extra layer of detail helps users make smarter decisions, based not just on where things are, but how good or useful they are.

To make it easy to use, Scribble Maps built a user-friendly interface and added support from Google’s Gemini AI. This means even non-technical users can create smart location scores without needing a background in GIS or data science.

Built for Everyone

By partnering with a mobility provider, Scribble Maps will soon offer affordable foot traffic data, making insights that used to cost thousands now accessible to small businesses, too.

This means a local coffee shop owner can explore potential franchise locations with the same level of insight a national brand might have.

With ScribbleSight, it’s now possible to analyse foot traffic, evaluate competition, and even identify under-serviced zones without needing a team of analysts or a GIS background.

It’s a powerful example of how location tools are becoming more accessible and more valuable to a wider range of users.
