We recently celebrated 20 years of Google Earth. Since launching in 2005, Google Earth has helped millions of people explore our planet, better understand the forces shaping it, and turn big questions into meaningful action.
In April, Google announced that Google Earth, still available at no cost, is now part of the Google Maps Platform family, joining their new geospatial analytics products to help professionals visualise and analyse the world in powerful new ways. This means professionals can access Google Earth and other Google Maps Platform tools for visualising and analysing geospatial data. As they look ahead, Google Earth is building on two decades of mapping experience to support solutions to some of the world’s biggest challenges, made possible by the global community that’s been with us every step of the way.
